This week we get to know the lovely Zoe De Pass, better known as Dress Like a Mum. I was lucky enough to get to know Zoe back in my teens in sixth form collage where we were practically inseparable. She was always naturally cool and had a great passion for fashion. I remember spotting her silver converse back pack and purple jeans and thinking I really want to be hanging out with her! I hadn’t t seen Zoe for years until Facebook was created and we connected again and she invited me to like her new venture Dress Like a Mum, which has now just taken off. It is such a great blog it has changed the views that many people have about mums fashion and also given confidence to ladies who have found themselves a little stuck in the fashion department either when pregnant or just after! We love Dress Like a Mum, she’s great, we love her lunges and her funny poses! Zoe I’m so proud to know you, to work with you and be back in touch so please check out her Q&A and of course if you haven’t before please check out her blog it s so fun and could really change your life! Big love to Dress Like a Mum xx
HLP: Do you have Little girls or little boys?
I have a 3 year old son and a 1 year old daughter
HLP: How do you find being a working mum???
Being Mum is hard – trying to start a business and work at the same time is also hard but mainly because of time – there is never enough! I’m always so busy, every minute of my day is filled and i always need extra time. It’s good though. I have defiantely leant to prioritise and whenever i do get some time i don’t waste it.
HLP: What was the hardest thing you’ve found about becoming a mum? ??
Sleep deprivation – i have realised that hangovers are often not hangovers they are tiredness. I’ve been so tired it was like having a hangover but without the (any) fun the night before. Also the washing SO much washing and constant kitchen cleaning.
HLP: Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Probably all the awesome, talented, motivated, hard working mums i’ve met recently.
HLP: What’s your favourite all time album?
I’m a big reggae fan – maybe Bob Marley Exodus … i’m going to think about this though there are so many more i love. I also love disco!
HLP: Who’s your style icon?
I don’t really have any one icon as i like to mismatch my style so much. I get inspiration from all over the place – people, photos, colours, ideas, conversations. I love Instagram and the network i have found there.
HLP: How would you describe your own style?
Fun, colourful, easy to wear, mismatch and a little bit fancy dress.
HLP: What’s your fave piece/brand on HLP?
HLP: What’s your guilty pleasure?
Red wine, dry roasted peanuts and dark chocolate – i consume them all every night.
HLP: If you could invite any 3 people to dinner who would it be?
Prince Harry (or William or Kate – i love the royal family), Katy Perry and my best friend Zoe.
HLP: What’s Bristols best kept secret?
How cool it is and how many great people live there.
HLP: Where s your favourite place in the world?
Anywhere with my friends and family – we could have fun in a garden shed.
HLP: When are you happiest????
That weekend morning cuddle in our bed with the kids. (Just before i get kneed in the tit and dragged out of bed for Weetabix)
HLP: What’s your biggest aim/goal in life?
To be kind, happy and successful.
HLP: What has been your proudest moment so far?
Having our amazing kids and starting my own business – basically just going for it and making it happen.
